Wiper acitivty gives litte bump on pedals
Hi,
with my gentle and quiet car, I might become to sensitive.. but:
When my wipers reverse their direction, I feel a little bump on the pedal.
My former cars didn't do it.. at least I didn't notice it..
Is there a mechanical link between wipers and pedals ?

Only in the framework of the car. The pedals are mounted to the frame work via brackets and the wiper motor is also mounted to the framework via brackets. I don't feel any such noise in my car. Maybe the wiper arm(s) is hitting the body on reversing. I would have it checked out if it feels unusual.

Wiper motor and linkage shown here:NEW Jaguar XJ Series X350 Wiper Motor - Complete Mechanism - Linkage | eBay
I do not know exactly which side the motor is on but it is possible that the motor is very near the pedals but on the other side of the scuttle. Possible play in linkage and hitting bodywork.

Funny you say this I was driving home in the rain this morning no music or anything on sat at lights in drive with brake on and funnily enough same small bump in pedal when I hold it hard. You are right this is very odd never had it on a car before I was thinking maybe down to battery drainage as brakes are power boosted a dip in the output may cause them to go pulse when wiper mote draws high current. I know my battery is going as when park brake is goes on lights dip and other problems like stereo n without engine and sub cause light to dip so waiting for new battery to be delivered.
