Wipers Stopping Mid-Way
Hello,
My wipers have started acting funny / they work fine when activated, but 50-60% of the time on delay or auto, they stop in the middle of the windscreen?
Relay / park issue or motor packing it in??
Thanks.
Jeff

My 2009 XJ Portfolio just started this too. I found a number of threads here in this forum that showed similar symptoms.
One that seemed to resolve it was here.

I have not yet talked to the dealer about this, but as I just bought a new 2014 F Type V8 S, they owe me, so I will ask when I am in for my first service.

Thanks! I'm in Denver too, maybe it's catching.. ;-)
I had the (un)luck to have to replace my booster last year, so I'm not doing that jazz again for this, I'll just deal with it. On constant, it never stops, so until that becomes an issue (hopefully will not), I'll "suffer"...
I do get tired of "engineers" burying non-lifetime bits in dark unaccessable caverns; absolutely no reason for that. Kinda like heater cores, give me a break!
Thanks for the link and heads up, most appreciated..

That was my thread from last June and my wipers are still working without fault, (knock on wood). If your wipers hang up halfway, then it is going to be the contacts inside the motor. They are losing contact while in the up position and wait till the next cycle. The contacts need to be cleaned. At least its just labor, no parts.

My 2006 XJ8L has this when in intermittent mode occasionally. I get around it by going to the slow speed and then going to the intermittent setting. The funny thing is that it seems to occur when it's cold. Since it warmed up where I live it hasn't occurred yet so far.
