Default X350 sport/traction buttons not working

I've recently bought a high mileage x350, 3.0 petrol. The sport button, traction control button & 2/3rd manual gears don't work. The auto side P,R,N,D all work fine. Kick down also is fine. Any ideas? Cheers.

I purchased a used 2015 cross trek last April, and the other day while driving in snow I wanted to turn off the traction control but when I press the button nothing changes. I’ve tried doing it in gear and in park. I would think if you depress the button an icon would come on telling you it is deactivated same as turning off lane departure. Is there a specific way to turn it off?

the sport button and traction control button not working could be due to some liquid spilling around them. First, get a can of compressed air and spray around them. Then, work the buttons a few times. I had success with this process on a Dodge button which was full of crude which would not allow the button to full compress.

If that doesn't fix it, then I'd recommend lifting the shift panel and cleaning around the area with electronic spray cleaner.

No suggestion on the manual gear shift. If the automate portion works, then leave manual alone. I never shift manually in an auto vehicle.
