While my engine was in the shop for some timing chain issues, we took the engine out for some further inspections. The cylinders were all photographed and filmed with an endoscope and we noticed an oil puddle in each was well as rubbing marks on the cylinder walls. Nothing horribly dramatic and the shop owner said that the engine is still good for a couple of thousand miles, but I’m thinking of bringing it back to a zero mileage standard. For which I would need new pistons, maybe even oversized. AFAIK Jaguar doesn’t sell piston so I’m dependant on the AM suppliers. I’ve been looking around for a few days but no luck so far.
