On 350/8s that's only a feature on later cars and then only on ones fitted with the additional digital radio option, ie DAB, [or presumably (in the US) satellite radio].

Even if it were in-range the bits really aren't cheap.
The tuner is over £500 new but can be had for about £80-120 secondhand. However, the killer is the 'gateway', which is an interface between the tuner and the rest of the hifi system; that's also over £500 new and secondhand, quite apart from cost (which will be high if the vendor realises what it is) ... they are very very rare.
The digital clock I think is there if the navigation setup is for the S Type X202 or X Type X400 instead of the X350 - keeping in mind the former do not have an analog clock. I think you can change the navigation in the XJ to setup for the S or X Types and get the digital clock but have not yet tried and don't know what other differences there will be. Mercedes in the W221 has an analog clock but also a digital clock in the nav screen - it sort of feels like it's missing in the X350.
