Default RE: XJ8 Navigation Bypass

there is definitely no wiring bypass at all .. the nav goes from a SCP network then to the gateway of the instument pack then the instrument pack via CAN network to the abs for vehicle speed.and i dont think there is any programming to change that .. unless engineers can..

Default XJ8 Navigation Bypass

The updated Navteq software allows this feature while the car is in motion. Posted from another string.

In the Uk, I bought a disc from Jaguar which was the 2010 disc for my 2003 car, when installed it updated the firm wear to allow operation when the car is in motion, ask your dealers over there if the same will work for you.
Besrt of luck.

Same here. Does not work. I think this is a US DOT requirement, perhaps?

FWIW, in my wife's 2002 RX300, there is a hack in one of the screens where, if you touch the top-left, the bottom-left, the top-left, the bottom-left, then the bottom-right, it unlocks so you can use it in-motion. It must be done at every start, however.

Idiotic.

I've gotten in the habit of doing this when I start the car, 'cause there's no reason she can't use the system while we're crawling along, or whatever....
