Point being, is there a place I can run my vin to see all its options?
Sounds like the dealer made an error when listing the car for sale. It is either a VDP or a Super V8, with the Super V8 basically being a VDP with a supercharger.

Is it really a "Portfolio" edition too?

Did you buy it from a Jag dealer? If so, they should be able to tell you the original options on the car. If not, a friendly Jag dealer would probably do this for you.

Is it listed as a "2004 Vanden Plas Super V8 portfolio" on your sales documents? If so, you may have some recourse against the dealer who sold it to you because it was misrepresented. You may have recourse if it was advertised for sale that way.

I can see it now, "For sale: Like new Jaguar XJ8 Limited Edition XJR Porfolio Super V8 100 Victory Edition Carbon Fiber Silver Series Daimler Sovereign, all options, low miles and one owner" lol!

They sometimes include XKR in the title of an XJ8 for sale on the 'bay just so you will see the listing when searching for an R type. I am always tempted to email the seller and tell them its missing the SC but they know that and are just trying to increase the hits on their listing. Dishonest IMHO.

Dear G'ville:
All of the Jags that I have looked at state the model on the outside of the trunk door.
I.e. Super 8 or Vanden Plas etc.
If yours was advertised as a Super 8 and its a VDP, then you've been mislead and might consider recourse if it was from a dealer.

A simple VIN check will tell you the build date and spec
Try this link Jaguar VIN Decoder
I have also attached the pages from JTIS

Im ok with it. I knew it wasnt sc, I just thought the " super v8 portfiolio" was part of the name. I was after a 04 VDP and thats what I got so Im cool with it.
