Newbie here. I have a 1995 xj6 and the gauge panel yesterday went crazy. All of the lights on the panel flash on and off while the gauges cycle back and fourth. The car runs fine while this happens just don't need the light show. Any help would be appreciated.

 

(At least) one of your ignition coils is faulty.

I went thru the same thing. Strange, huh? I never would've guessed it had it not been for help from others here.

Anyhow, remove the coil cover and run the engine in the dark. If you see a light show in the opaque potting material of one of the coils, that's the one causing the problem.
