Default 1995 XJR Sports Wheel Nuts

The wheel nuts on my 95 XJR have a little play in them, almost as if they are slightly loose covers. If they are covers, no amount of pulling seems to detach them. They don't seem to easily want to turn either and I don't want to put too much force on them until I know what I'm dealing with. I feel a bit silly asking this, but are these covers or part of the nut? Thanks, Richard.

The covers can be (destructively) removed. I use the de-covered nuts with "Solar" X308 wheels that have hubcaps. I bought Gorilla 73187SMB for the stock 16" wheels; they can use the same (21mm) lug wrench as the uncovered originals.

the covers are 'jiggly' - normal. don't worry about it.
main thing - don't overtorque them - from memory 88-102Nm but check handbook

Thanks for all advice. I suspect they are on too tight, but I know what I need to do now.
