Would a super charger from an x300 xjr fit an x300 xj6? Would modifications have to be made of any kind?

I'm curious because I see some for sale on eBay and other places for pretty cheap and it would be pretty cool to be able to just "bolt" it onto my AJ6 engine.

If there's a will there's a way but you'd be much better off buying a supercharged car. The list of differences between the standard engine and the supercharged engine is pretty long.

If it sounds too good to be true, it probably isn't..........

I don't think it will work without a wiring harness, ECU, and several other parts from an XJR. That is how it works on a 308, YMMMV.

You are better off to sell your car and buy a real XJR if you want the power upgrade.

Thanks for the replies. I didn't really look into it deeply and figured I'd ask the question to those that already knew that answer instead of wasting my time looking around.

It makes sense that harnesses and the ECU would play a factor into it.

That's just scratching the surface :-) The supercharged engines had a different block, head, and pistons, MAF, ECU, injectors, etc. Different radiator and cooling plumbing, plus the addition of the intercooler radiator and electric pump. Different transmission, axle ratio, suspension.

Aww man, and to think, they look so much alike on the outside.
I was hoping they'd fit since on eBay they're pretty cheap and thought it'd be a great way to add some horsepower and have an "xjr".

Life isn't easy.
