Exclamation 1997 XJ^L Sunroof

Out of the blue, my sunroof on my 97 XJ6L stopped working, in the open position. The first thing I did was to check the fuse, OK. My problem is I'm miles away from any Jag mechanics. So here's where I could use some help. Ideas to fix it, OR how to close it manually.

Never had it, but it might be worth to check the switch/wiring.
If you open your sunglasses tray in the upper panel with the sunroofswitch, you'll see a big oldfashioned plastic simple screw. get a big screwdriver and push it up a little, then turn it one quarter, we here call it a bajonet screw.
That side should come down a little, then you see the sliders at the front end IN the thingamee, so ease it backwards. Now you can check the wiring/switch.

Go Lucky.

Once you get the overhead console out of the way, you will see the motor. In the middle of the motor is a white plastic thing. Use your big screw driver and turn it either way to close the roof. This is a clutch mechanism that allows manual movement of the roof. Once closed turn the white plastic thing the reverse direction of whatever way got the roof closed to disengage it and reinstall the overhead console. If you don't want it to move again, disconnect the motor from the little black box next to it on the right. The sunroofs are fragile mechanisms.
