Default 1997 XJR Heated seats

Hello All, all 4 buttons have no lights when trying to use heated seats. Is there a central module that can be burnt out?

Default Switches etc

Hello all, 1997 Jaguar XJR, no heated seats, hazard light switch light is on but doesnt work, side view mirrors not responsive, and of course the steering wheel is not working either, that is the motor to raise lower etc. Any ideas where to start? I have been checking fuses but so far nothing, wondering if it could be one of the bigger modules?

New to this and appreciate all help.

So far have replaced alternator, rear tires, front shocks and air filter, it is running and sounds nice. Transmission light and engine lights are on. Main codes seem to refer to misfire. Plan on swapping out plugs.

Any hints or suggestions welcome.

In the beginning on key rotation it will provide a ground to close " king " relays in the corners of the fuse boxes

Fuse # 1 - 9 is hot at all times

Fuse 10 , 12 , 14 , 16 require the relay to close

This leaves the rest of the fuses 11 , 13 , 15 ect. to be hot at all times

There is an exception in the left engine bay fuse box as that relay only controls the car horn so is a swapping option

To test an example like the right engine bay fuse box have the key in run position ( engine not started ) and in removing the relay it should click in your fingers on removal back to the open position

In your worst case the ignition switch ( if that ) can be changed without needing a new key

Welcome to the forums moleskijag,

I've merged your two threads Switches etc and 1997 XJR Heated seats as the topics are related.

Please read the guidance for new members ( https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/n...ned-up-241802/ ) before starting any more threads.

I read it as the red lights in the heated seat buttons do not illuminate. Y'know? you could have heated seat buttons and no heated seats? Right? However, in that case the red lights in the buttons should still illuminate. The only way to know for sure you have heated seats fitted is to look under the seat and confirm the yellow wiring connector is mated to another connector and not sitting there open. Of course, this doesn't tell you if you have heated seats and the blankets have gone kaput! If that is the case, perhaps maybe the red lights will not illuminate, IDK,.
