Hi, I recently purchased an X300 4.0 Sport and it is in need of new
tyres. It is currently running the standard 225/55 R16 on the 8
inch rims.

I would like to fit 225/60's to reduce the tramlining tendancy and
make it a bit softer. I am aware the standard XJ6s and Daimlers run
225/60s on the 7 inch rim but I am wondering if there would be any
clearance problems going to 225/60s on my Sport with the 8 inch
rims. Does the 8 inch rim have any offset etc that could affect the
clearance to the car body when the front wheels are turned?

Any advice would be appreciated.

 

i have put 18 inche wheels on mine with 245/18/40 tyres and it turns o/k but god i feel every bump on the road and puts more pressure on suspention bushes which i have to do, but they do look good is this any help
