I brought my xj in for a P0460 code and a P0430 catalytic converter code. Mechanic fixed the p0460 (loose wire behind cluster) but instead of replacing the cat he told me about putting spacers between the 02 sensors to help get the car to pass New Jersey emissions without spending the 450 for the converter. So hey I gave it a shot and behold it didn't give me a code for about 2 weeks....then I got hit with 3 codes. P0300 P1313 and P1138. Plus while I was driving it the transmission light came on which I found odd since it was shifting no problem. I cleared the codes and they all came back minus the transmission light this time. Does anybody have a general idea on what I need to look at/replace? Love this car and it's never failed me yet, but sometimes it just gets so frustrating.
