Just bought my first Jag. '95 Vanden Plas and the cruise control is not working. Only 58K miles. Had it in to the dealer for diagnosis and it says "I tested the switches, brake switch, vac motor, dump valve, hoses, and servo. They were all OK. I tested for power coming out of the module for the vac pump and it had no power" He advised that it needed a new cruise module. I purchase a used one on line and replaced it. Still no cruise. It seems unlikely that the one I bought had the exact problem. Any ideas?

 

Update: I gave up an took it to the local mechanic that I use when I get stumped. He found the cruise dump valve not holding vacuum. He plugged the vacuum line and everything works fine. Less than $100 and I'm good to go. I can't find any symptoms from plugging the line so I'll probably just leave it. If I find an issue, does anybody have a good source for a used dump valve?
