Default 95 XJ6 system lock issues

This morning I heard the lock tones chirping twice on my car. I went out to investigate and saw the headlights flash twice with the chirp. I grabbed my keys an attempted to unlock the vehicle - no chirp or lock actuator sounds. Next I attempted to unlock the driver side door with the key without success. Previously everything worked fine without issue. I then unlocked the passenger door using the key - worked fine. I was able to open the driver door from the inside and start the vehicle. I let it run for a bit and shut it off. Still no lock locking the car with the fob or the dash lock button. I left it for a little while and boom everything worked again. This has happened a few times now. Each time it has been sitting idle with nothing going on around it. Does anyone have an idea of what's going on here? Is this some alarm or security malfunction or function? Twice now the vehicle wouldn't start as well - in the midst of the lock issue. I'm really scratching my head here any advice is appreciated.

The Security Locking Control Modual is located in the trunk under the fuel fill well

The SLCM also gives a starter enable signal

Is the well leaking water on the SLCM connectors ?

There is also the BT4 connector above the fuel tank

It could be the key fob batteries getting weak; it could be a faulty micro-chip in one of the doors misinforming the security system that the car is already locked or unlocked. A hard-reset might help restore the settings.

I have disconnected the battery even installed a new one and after the reset everything did work. I will be checking for a leak shortly. I live in a state where rain is the norm and the issue started after a wash. Thank you for giving me some direction!
