Default 95 xj6 Windscreen washer bottle - replacement

hi all,

I am hopeful that some one may have come across this one before.....

I need to find a replacement washer bottle for my dads xj6.

Much ringing around and searching has not yielded any replacement as yet and i am becoming disheartened!

Does anyone know if there is a substitute to the original available ?

I know that some parts can be common to different vehicles and am hoping that this is a problem that has been solved before!

Any assistance greatly appreciated!

Somewhere in here is a posting saying a particular Chrysler model has a bottle that will work. Can't remember the model, but keep searching and you'll run across it, I'm sure.

Yeah I saw the post but I found a ne genuine jlm12454 for very cheap and I want to know if it would fit.

Or maybe I can find someone who can repair the broken mounting tabs?

Ahh...just mounting tabs? the bottle is intact? You are only a bumper-remove & Replace + 5 minutes from being whole!

I carefully fashioned reinforcements for broken mounting tabs from an old license plate, resin, and fibreglass cloth....with an eye toward a helpful posting...but during that activity, happened to be on the phone with Motorcarman and described what I was up to, and he said, "Oh.....I"d have just run a couple of plumber-straps diagonally under the bottle and up to the mounting holes...." Made me feel a bit foolish as I'd already fashioned enough reinforcements to do all 3 cars!

There seems to be from reading problems with the X308 electrical connectors on the items in the tank

The question on if the items from the X300 tank can be swapped over to the X308 tank is unknown to me

By keeping the original X300 items negates to need to do anything with the connectors

It ain't pretty....weren't quick...but it IS serviceable. Like Motorcarman says...just run a coupla plumbing support straps under it. Added bonus, if you do that, you won't even have to remove it from the car, meaning you won't have to remove the pump and sensor...and refit same...during which evolution (refitting pump) I managed, with brute force and awkwardness, to crack the bottle, necessitating an additional remove, repair, and refit step!
