95 XJS Engine stalls

95 XJS Engine stalls

Yesterday it was very hot and I was driving home in very busy slow moving traffic. After a while the engine started stalling. I could start it again but I have to rev the engine constantly to prevent it from stalling again.
Any suggestions?
