Welcome to the forum Jagman99,

I've moved your question from Jaguar Forums Advice / Feedback & Suggestion Center section to X300 section and deleted the duplicate post from X350 section (the Advice / Feedback section is for posts about the forum and not for technical questions). Members here in the X300 section with the same model as you will be able to help with the radio issue.

When you get a minute, please follow this link New Member Area - Intro a MUST - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the New Member Area - Intro a MUST section and post some info about yourself and your vehicle for all members to see. In return you'll get a proper welcome and some useful advice about posting to the forum.

To start getting some help here for you, is this the audio unit fitted to your vehicle?

Is there any telephone equipment (handset or cradle) installed in the centre console?

Might be faulty radio or stuck button.

Read the selectable features TSB attached.

Welcome to the forum, Jagman. If you have trouble getting Bob's TSB to open, get on over to the welcome center and introduce yourself - and get your post-count boosted up above 10. I believe that's one of the pre-req. for full-status.

Cool Jaguar radio

Thank you guys for all the help you have given me so far the guide for the radio helps , atleast now I know what present buttons do what. The radio is still frozen though I can't even shut it off . It goes off if the car is powered down but then when I turn the car back on the tel mute just comes back up on the display and none of the buttons are responsive . Cheers

PUSH button 1 to turn OFF - not ROTATE. PUSH again to power ON.

If your radio is the one shown above try the following. It may sound silly but when mine was acting up by being stuck on one station and at a locked volume I pushed a cassette in then ejected it and all functions worked. Try holding the eject button in for a couple of seconds. I know I've read that others have had the same experience with the eject button "unfreezing" the radio. Can't hurt to try it.

If the radio doesn't come on at all a new antenna won't help.

The AJ ("Alpine-Jaguar") radios used in these cars are notoriously troublesome. I've replaced mine several times. Now that I plum out of spare units I'm really up the creek

Cheers

Could it be as simple as a bad connection on the back of the radio?

The plug may be loose making intermittent contact.

Default Radio

The only reason I would think it may be the Mast because sometimes the radio works and ten other times it might make a real loud kind of pop sound and them or will not come in anymore. Also when that happens ill try the scan botton and it does not pick up stations . I have checked behing the radio everything seems fine

Loud Pop/scratching noise ye. My radio is starting to do the same from time to time. Mostly when it is a hot day. I think you should reconsider about replacing it with an alpine spare or custom radio.

so i first off want to say thank you to everyone for the great advice they have given me towrds fixing my radio. so after a few days of trying different things making sure connections where good i said to myself why dont i try to clean the unit itself , i remember seeing a message about it needing to be cleaned on the screen along time ago. so i grabbed a can of electronic contact cleaner and sprayed through the tape deck . about a hour later i went back out my car turned the key on no radio then i pushed a tape in there and it started working . and when i ejected the tape the green light even came on the screen of the radio and has stayed on for the past few days! it has not done that even since i first bought the car. so maybe it was just dirty .....anyway if your radio is doing the same just spray some electronic contat cleaner in and try it out! it cant hurt the radio in anyway at all,

cheers!
