Not "tests", but.....

Sometimes removing and re-seating the trac and ABS connections mysterious solves the problem. This has worked for me a couple of times.

Sometimes cleaning the wheel speed sensors does the trick

Sometimes a hard reset does the trick

Sometimes none of the above helps and you need to find someone with a scan tool that'll read ABS codes.

Cheers
DD

You only need to take the ground off the battery, then touch it to the positive terminal, or if it's held with a tie wrap so it won't reach, use a screwdriver or other metal object.

A hard reset might help but chances are it will not. You should see if you can get the codes but if that is not an option then testing is the way to go. I have a procedure for running tests from the ABS plug for an xk8 and it might give you what you need for testing yours. I also have a procedure for repairing the ABC module if it is necessary.

Often when the ABS light appears after the car has been started and it moves about 20 yards is a good indication the module needs repair.

My 1995 XJ6 had the same problem and at the time I replaced the ABS unit next time I would opt for the rebuild.
