Hi all, I’m looking to replace my steering wheel but I’m having trouble finding a steering wheel hub, for those of you who have replaced your steering wheels, where did you buy them? Also I need door clips and am not sure what size door clips to buy, thanks for taking the time to read!

What is the year and model of your Jaguar? If it has an airbag in the steering wheel, what do you plan to do if your aftermarket wheel does not accommodate the airbag module? Are you concerned that your Supplemental Restraint System will trigger persistent warning lamps if you delete your steering wheel airbag?
Cheers,
Don

I have a 1996 xj6 I’m not too worried about the warning light for the airbag at the moment because I plan on replacing the steering wheel after I change the registration to an antique plate because then I won’t need to have it inspected, I’m mainly looking to replace my wheel because the finish on the leather is coming off in my hands and I want to replace it with a wooden wheel to give it a classier look. I’ve looked on nrg and mono for aftermarket hubs and I’ve come up relatively short, the only jaguar hubs they have are for x-types, if I can’t find a hub I will probably just look for a factory steering wheel to replace the one I have now, at the moment I’m just looking at my options for when it comes time to make my decision. Many thanks!Originally Posted by Don B

The problem is that when the airbag warning light is activated, the entire airbag system is deactivated, so none of it will work. I suspect that you will be able to track down a replacement factory wheel, which would be a simpler and safer solution

Andy,
I have revised the title of your thread to better reflect the nature of your inquiry so other members who may have knowledge and experience in this area may be able to offer helpful information.
I have purchased good salvaged factory steering wheels from sellers on eBay who are parting out Jaguars, and I purchased a New Old Stock wheel for my X308 from David Boger at everydayxj.com, so it would definitely be worth checking with him.
Cheers,
Don
