alarm is not letting the car start
Hi guys,
the following: I dont use remote to access the car (got lost many years ago), so I only use the key. Has worked perfectly until today.
Got to work, all good. Bought myself a (wrong) 433 MHZ Transmitter remote & tried to program it onto the 315 Mhz Alarm. Checked the boot & the rear glass antenna for more information about the Mhz.
Found out that the 433 Mhz was wrong & tried to start the engine. no result. I can lock the car with key - no chirps. Unlock car - 2 chirps. Key in ignition - light go on , Transmission in "P" no reaction at all from starter. Interesting is that the lights inside on roof dont go on.
I havent got a clue...
Can anyone help out?
Thank you
julian

It seems as though your incorrect fob may have set the alarm/immobiliser, but won't undo it. Maybe the right fob will do the trick, possibly a loaner, just to undo the alarm. It can then be reset to the original donor car. Nothing to lose by trying a "hard reset". Just disconnect the Negative lead from the car battery, hold it on the Positive terminal for a few seconds. or alternatively, disconnect both terminals, and leave the battery disconnected for about 15 minutes.
There is also a reset switch down in the drivers ( or passengers?) footwell, not sure which side, depending on RHD/LHD, but it's accessible just by pulling back the carpet, near the kick panel. Have a poke around, nothing to lose. Press the switch when you find it, with the battery connected.
Best of luck.

....tried an original FOB, no reaction. Tried the "hard reset", no reaction. Didnt find the reset switch, so its been towed to garage today ;-(. I will keep an update on the results ;-).
"It's not dead as long as it has a motor!"

quick update: found the interia switch - no result as was not "activated". Had it towed to the local Jag-guys, got a phone call they cant read out a problem yet; they think its "electrical" hahaha.... never heard a better comment after having it for 48 hours..... We will see how we get on, getting a spare set of wheels today, a Holden Commodore...... what an insult ;-))...
Will keep you informed...

...good news: car moving again! Bill 550$ for finding a loose cable connection in the boot upper right area..... So good thing is, I dont have to drive the rent-a-car Holden any more...
If it aint broken, dont touch it!!!!
