antenna replacement
Now, I want to be certain how this is done since it seems silly easy.
Obtain Ebay replacement
remove antenna nut on the top
turn radio on and eject antenna
snake new plastic down
turn radio off and replace nut
It can't be that easy and cheap?

WHY NOT.
Thats how i did mine.
Only addition is to have a helper, and as the old extends, grab hold of it (the antenna mast I mean) and keep pulling it out of the unit.
PRIOR to getting excited, NOTE the direction the teeth face on the old versus the new, and refit the new the same way round.
Replace the new mast and turn off the radio, making sure all is lined up as it retracts. Sometimes a second cycle may be required to get it to lower totally.
This method ONLY applies IF the nylon cord is intact. IF it has broken then the antenna will require dismantling to get that piece out of the workings. Not rocket science, but time consuming.

+1
It's the easiest repair you'll ever do on a Jaguar!
I always surround the antenna base with broad (2 inch) masking tape just in case anything slips when undoing or replacing the nut.
You see a lot of Jaguars with scratches in the paint next to the antenna.

Got my Ebay super cheap URO mast replacement. And yeap, It is that frickin easy.
I don't know why Jag owners drive around with bad masts. It's two minutes and lunch money.
Thanks guys!!

Here's the trick to removing the antenna nut. From the inside loosen the 2 Torx screws that hold the antenna assembly in place. You will see that they are in a slot that allows for adjustment. Push the whole assembly upwards and the nut is completely exposed above the rubber gasket. reduces the chance of paint scratches and a nicked up nut. Below is the link if you need to get into the antenna assembly to get out the broken cable.
