Default Anti Lock - intermittent

Sometimes, whenever I drive about 50 ft or so, my anti lock light comes on and doesn't go away until I turn the car off and then start it back up and it's gone.

Sometimes it won't come back after driving and for the past 2 days the light hasn't come on. I inspected the front sensors and it looks like there is a ground wire on the driver front that is no longer connected.

Would that ground wire be the problem? I've tried looking online for replacement sensor cables but none of them seem to have the ground wire connect so it makes me wonder.

Seems plausible that it could be the problem, yes. Repair the wire and see what happens.

Cheers

Thanks Doug. I'll see what I can do about repairing it. The wire actually broke off at the rubber boot so it'll be a little tough getting it back together.

Mine has been doing the same thing. I took it to my Jag mechanic and had the codes pulled.
I believe the code was C1095. I think he said the ABS control module is failing.

Somebody cut both the ground wires on my xjr prior to me owning it and I am looking to fix this. Interested to see how this repair goes for you. Good luck.
Dayn.

It's weird, since I took off the wheels and found the cut ground wire I haven't gotten the anti lock light.
If it does come back, what I am going to do is cut about an inch of the rubber boot off and see if that's enough to connect both ends back together.

Either way, I will let you know how it goes.
