Default Any experience with this replacement cupholder?

While trying to see why my armrest doesn't close and lock, the plastic around the cup holder pivot pins broke away and now it is "asunder". In all fairness I can see where it had been glued before and was "hanging on by a thread" waiting to cut lose. I have looked at all the solutions which include trying to repair it which seems futile in the long run, buying an entire new OEM armrest which I don't need or getting URO 7692AB cup holder replacement for a little over $100. It does not have metal hinges like the later, improved, models but, seems to have much beefier plastic ones.
Wondering if anyone has any experience to share?

Look for a 2003 cupholder used or new on eBay or a wrecking yard for the X308(XJ8) or X100(XK8). Jaguar modified it to use a metal hinge in 2003 (the last year) and those hold up just fine and bolt into your existing armrest. You may have to paint the cover to match, and you can't use a pre-2003 cover, but there are plenty of vinyl paints out there.

Default My Solution

After seeing my upholder had already been repaired and broken again, I was faced with new replacement. Searching for low cost replacements I stumbled across a brand new OEM armrest for 60% more than the cheapest replacement upholder. I now have it installed and plan to never open it!
