The automatic door lock on my 1996 XJR 4.0 sc is dead when I use the remote control. The other doors open/close/open in 2 or 3 cycles while the driver's door remains closed or open.
With the car key it is possible to open and close all 4 doors. Sometimes the alarm gets activated when I open ... the beeping starts ... then 30 seconds time to turn the ignition on.
I disconnected the mass cable from the battery for about 30 seconds, hoping a system reboot will help, unfortunately without success. Can anybody help?

Sounds like its time to remove and refurbish the door latch. Tedious, but necessary. If the door latch only "buzzes", that would indicate a broken piece in the actuator box on the latch. Recently someone had a dead motor in the actuator box. New parts are not available but used ones can be found.
