Good afternoon all.

I have just replaced the rear hub bearings on my 96 3.2 sport and noticed that there is a lot of play on the half shaft at the diff end. as in i can move the hub and shaft about 1 inch. now all the halfshaft assembly seems fine with no play issues in the uj's. I assume its a bearing in the diff.

Any ideas on this?

If you mean you can rotate 1 inch, that's backlash in the gears. I don't know if that's normal, but there is always some play.

 

Sorry. should have said i can pull the hub and shaft 1 inch away from the diff.
