Default which Bilsteins to install

I have a 1996 x300 in excellent shape, I would like to stiffen the suspension just a little bit. I see there are 2 Bilsteins available, B4 and B6, looking for input into what others have experienced.

b4 if you want the stock ride b6 if you want a sport ride. both will be a lot stiffer than a blown shock

im using the b4s they work fine

+1 on the Bilstein B4, which most owners will find offers the best compromise between smooth ride and sporty handling. The B6 are firmer and are preferred by those who drive their Jag like a BMW, at the expense of overall ride comfort.

The Bilsteins also come with most of the bushings you need. If you do the rears, be sure to also get the large upper spring isolator "donut" bushings.

Cheers,

Don

How was it replacing the front struts? The rear shocks were really easy on my 2017 Mazda 3.

not very hard. bottom bolt off, vice grip the middle of the shaft impact the top nut off drag the shock out reinstall and you’re done.

rear is pretty easy too
