Default Boot lid electrics not working

Ok...heres one someone most have experience of. My x300 has no electrics on anything attatched to the boot lid....ie; boot release (fob, dash, or cat buton), boot (trunk?) lights, or plate lights. I figure an earth problem, or the flexi wire . I put a meter on a few things, an I get no live , OR earth (-)...any ideas will be appreciated

check the wiring loom at the boot hinge. A common place for chaffing and if I recall those are the symptoms. Try a couple of searches; "boot" and "trunk" here in the x300 section should catch them all.

Glad to hear you got it sorted. Mine has never caused a problem but lots of posts here about that being a common failure.

Russell:
The key is supposed to work in the hole in the badge. Some of them apparently gum up. I would try some lubricant like wd-40 in that lock hole before I resorted to pushing the lock rod to the side through the top license tag screw hole. I would normally prefer some dry lubricant, but once the thing is already stuck, I believe WD-40 is about all that might work. And, it is not a normal tumbler lock.
