Default A/C Issue

My A/C works good....maybe a little too good? When I drive on the highway for over 10 minutes the A/C condensation drips onto who knows what but causes a huge plume of steam to come out the back. It is not coming out of my tailpipes just from the underbody of the car where the A/C seems to drip erratically. ANy ideas on what to do or what I can do to seal it up?

Don't seal up the a/c drains !

Unlike my older Jags...where the drains always clogged up... my X300 drains like nobody's business!

I've never gotten huge plumes of steam though. Not any steam that I can see, in fact.

Are you sure it isn't something else hitting the exhaust? trans fluid, maybe?

Cheers
DD

I'd probably run the car, then jack it up, and see if anything is dripping on the exhaust.

Listen to Doug, and DON'T plug the air con drains. I know from experience that the Xj40's had a problem with dirt and gunk getting up there, and water would stay in the blower, causing all h3ll to brake loose.

Shouldn't be hard to look at the location of the drain and the surrounding parts to see what the condensation could be hitting. It seems unlikely your issue is from the drain though because our drains really aren't in close proximity to ANYTHING that really gets hott which is strange. However if it gives you piece of mind you could re-route the drain to another area of the car but be sure it flows as good as the original so you don't get water into your cabin
