Car ALarm Issue...help please
This morning when I went to unlock my car the alarm went off and would not stop. My car has the stock Jag security system which is a very loud alarm. It would not turn off regardless of what button i pushed. When I pushed the arm or disarm key it would make a noise and keep going. The doors would lock and unlock as I pressed the buttoms but the alarm would not stop sirening.
I was on my way to work so i had to leave it going. This will probably kill my battery which i will deal with but i wanted to know if anyone had any feedback on this.
I am out of town for a few days and will trouble shoot when i return.
PLease help
Thanks,

Probably way too late, but disconnect the car battery before leaving the car until you have time to deal with it.
The alarm should shut off when you start the car on the key.
Also, try locking the drivers door with the key, and hold in the locked position for quite a while, 20 seconds or so. At least on my slightly older 92 this forces the car to recognise the alarm and shuts it off.
And you are correct, they are mighty loud.

This is one of the few things I know. Start the car. Putting the key in the ignition and turning it is all it really takes. There is no other way to shut off the alarm if it got accidentally activated in panic mode.
