Central Door Locking - trying to avoid taking doors apart..
Hey all,
So i've watched a few videos and searched the forums but haven't found an easy solution. I'm trying to avoid taking the doors apart if I don't have to. My issue is that when I push the central locking button on the center dash area, just one door locks. my x300 does not have a fob, just the manual key. I don't suspect the fuse #1 on the right heelboard, because that one door is working fine. So is there anything else to try before taking apart the doors? I will confirm the fuse #1 anyways in the mean time.
Thanks

Around the end of 96 they switched Fobs and Security Lock Control Module from 315 to 433 hz
Would need the VIN to correlate the correct SLCM as there are some wire changes at the connector.
You can read all the door locks from the SLCM connectors
With your US model there is a hard reset of the SLCM to get it to zero state

Discern which SLCU part # you should have , most likely the 433 hz
You most likely only have 1 door key barrel only

I'm running into the same issue it seems.
Yesterday the x300 1997 (European version, not UK) started and I took it for a ride after having changed the remote key batteries as well as the car battery a few days back (and nothing worked for few days, Parker helped
. Today it doesn't though nothing changed.
I tried a hard reset disassemblying the battery for a few minutes, and followed the procedure in the user manual around the alarm system. The fuses are fine. The central locking system hasn't worked for a bit (but that might not be related given yesterday everything worked). No success yet. Seems the motor is immobilized and it has to do with the remote keys and not so much key barrel parts (given all worked yesterday, unless it broke just now!).
Is there a (simple) way to reprogram these keys myself for the European model?
(If I understand it correctly it means performing a hard reset on these SLCM's for the European model to bring them to zero state, and then correlate them to the VIN of the car with some device?)

Doing a hard reset outside of USA models will lock out the stereo head ( theft protection )

No
You will need a reset code for the stereo
A Jaguar " Hard Reset " is removing both battery cables and touching each other
Others will know how to do yours
There is reprograming the Fob as several TSBs in section 18
JagRepair.com - Jaguar Repair Information Resource
To know the Fobs are fully functioning see the video in the security section with the chirps , the chirps may not be workings as a dedicated speaker not maintained by previous owner
Cheap Fob batteries not good
You can use a pencil eraser to clean the FOB contacts
There are cheap specific to the X300 rubber button covers and micro switches on E - Bay
Some have stacked the batteries in the Fob incorrectly
