Default Central locking issue

Hello Everybody,
I have a 2002 X type.
I have searched the forums and Googled with no success in finding this particular problem.
Before I start tearing my drivers side door apart has anyone had the following issue?
My central locking works with the fob and key. It also works from inside the car on the passenger side ie if you pull the release all the doors unlock.
However it has stopped working on the drivers side release inside the car ie you pull it and it only opens the drivers door, it is the same with locking as it will not lock the other doors.
Does anyone know if this is a programming issue or do I need to start tearing into the drivers side door? Appreciate any advice you may have.

AussieDart, from the sounds of things, if you follow the mechanical lock back, you should see where it will interact with a switch. That switch has eaten itself and needs replaced. Get a new switch and you should be golden. This is all assuming that you don't have a damaged wire. But, a quick look in the area of the switch should reveal a wiring issue.
