s2 central locking
I have been working on the central locking in my 78 S2 XJ6 and have managed to get 3 motors working so far.
From what I have read it is not possible to operate the central locking from the external key lock on either door. Is this correct??
So the idea is that you unlock the drivers door with the key and then unlock the other doors with the switch on the console??
Locking the doors the same way, operating the switch and then locking the drivers door from the outside??
Let me know if I have missed somthing?

Not that mine would be the final but, yes, as I udnerstand it the locks operate *only* from the manually operated swith on a Ser II.
The operates-with-the-door-key central locking appeared on the Ser IIIs
I'm guessing it wouldn't be all that much work to change yours over to Ser III type operation if you really wanted to.
Cheers
