Default Champion RC12YC a "Race" plug?

The Champion RC12YC is the correct plug for my 95 XJ6 correct? If it is considered a race plug then does that mean my XJ is a race car? LoL.

I am at just a bit over 74,000 miles and not knowing when and if the plugs have ever been replaced thought it would be good preventative maintenance.

...only if you race lawn mowers!

I've found the best place to buy the Champion RC12YC plugs is the lawn & garden department at your local "big box" home improvement/hardware store or Walmart. They are about $2 a piece.

Oh, and since they aren't really "long life" plugs like modern platinum, etc plugs, I had read somewhere that the RC12YC plugs ought to be changed out more frequently. How frequently? I have no idea. But since they are so cheap and so easy to access, I change them as part of my annual spring checkup.

Jaguar recommends replacement every 30K miles.

Here is some info for you.
All this info is on this forum and on Gus's site.

Yep , with some refinement I have seen where they are raced at 600 Hp . As I refine my N/A without supercharging or nitro it I hope to get from 250 up to 300 ( less at the on the wheel dynometer ) . Have to get that drivetrain factor to adjust the data points . The local truck performance shop here has a Dyno Day . I'll tell them that it is in fact a truck engine with the over square crankshaft setup . They should be inspired .

I walk into my local AutoZone and tell him I need Champion RC12YC plugs and he says, "oh, you have a lawnmower?" Lol..

The new Champions replaced NGK BK R6E GP that were in the car and the idle seems a little smoother. I had a bit of a roughness/skip that also now seems to be gone. Coils are all original and a nighttime viewing didn't show any electrical leakage.

Yep, lawnmower plugs

Walmart and Home Depot, etc have them by the loads, very cheap. I often wipe them out when I buy 6 at a time in the late winter and the "Garden Shop" is mothballed.

For how inexpensive they are and so easy to replace I will have to keep my eye open for them this fall and stock up.

Yep, I replace them annually. Why not, they are so cheap and easy to get to.
