I have had the headliner in my car sag ever since I bought the damn things, after failing miserably to find shops that might actually do the job I decided to finally tackle it before snow hits the Midwest. My passenger seat does not move so I was nervous following the directions at

The directions are grt at this site, I got all the trim off and dislodged the headliner board in about 45 mins, it took me a while to figure out how to get the board out; i had to do a small cut (about an inch) to give me access to the moon roof section that made taking out the board a breeze. The kit is in order so I should have it in the car next weekend, I also took some pix of the steps, and I will also take some pix when I am putting it back up and the finished result.

Now I just have to figure out how to upload pix on this forum?!!?

So,

It is finally in, took some time and learned a couple things (everything is 20/20 in hindsight right?) It is not that hard, just needs care when you are actually laying down the fabric. I also ran out of adhesive so I had to run to the nearest autozone and grab another can. So have 2 cans ready when you are doing this. The fabric has really thin foam backing so don't over spray the adhesive, it will soak up through the fabric when you apply pressure (it happened to me, and it looks rather ugly!) Apply the pressure evenly, this is important because you will end up with dimples in your fabric, I posted a pic of just to show you guys, use the palm of your hand or a paint roller or something. I also took a pic of the 2 different adhesives I used, the 3M is the way to go, it is ALOT more forgiving gives you enough time to re-arrange and work out air pockets on contours of the board, the second can is also good, but the bond is rather instant so lay it down in real small chunks. a foot or so, and less as you come close to the sun visor area.

Well the headliner looks better then it did before, could have been a lot better if I knew what I know now, so if you are going to do it you might as well take the time to do it right. It would not hurt to have a friend help hold the fabric up as you are bonding the fabric with the board.

And for about 60 bucks, if you mess up... you can always do it again when spring rolls around!
