Default climate control

I dropped a penny into the cigarette lighter and shorted out the fuse. I changed the fuse and the cigarette lighter is working again, although the temperature will not work now. I am not sure if it is just a coincidence or if there is something I am overlooking. The fan does blow and the defrost comes on just no change in temp.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

1. Let us know what car you have.
2. Be careful creating new threads. Try to create it in an appropriate forum.

Cheers

Welcome to the forum jrs.

I have temporarily moved your post here to the general tech until you tell us what vehicle you have.

You should really follow forum protocol and introduce yourself in the "New Member" section of the forum.

Also please go to "UserCP" in upper left corner, click "Edit Signature" add your vehicle details year, model, engine etc.., click "Save" and poof we will forever know whatyour wrenching on.

Thank you

Welcome to the forum jrs8711,

Follow Rick's advice to introduce yourself in the "New Member" section of the forum by following this link:

New Member Area - Intro a MUST - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum

In return you'll get a proper welcome and some useful advice on posting to the forum.

Jaguar used 'XJ6' on a number of different models from 1968 to 2009 which can be very confusing. For this reason the forum (and Jaguar Dealers) follow the Factory model references. Your 1996 is an X300.

Now we know which XJ6 you have, I've moved your thread to the X300 section.

Graham
