Clock and climate control bulbs
Has anyone found a supplier for the bulbs that go in the clock and climate control that are non-LED. I’ve tried LED and they’re just too bright and you can’t dim them.
I used nail polish. It toned them down some and I got used to the brightness quickly. Unfortunately they don't match the radio, but I like the way they look.
Bulbs can be replaced as bulbs only. All except clock buttons are just have their wire terminals twisted around the base slots. So you just use a needle to pry up the wire, untwist and pull the bulb out. On clock buttons you need to solder the bulbs into the bases. Bulbs a T1.25 shape (4mm diameter) available on eBay. It's said on the clock back that button bulbs are 100mA (1.4W) except hazard 40mA (white cap). Display more looks like 80mA as when i put 100mA into clock display it became brighter than climate display. Caps for T1.25 are available at eBay in different colors.
Problem arose with the original incandescent bulbs getting too hot desoldering the ribbon wire connector in the clock I beleive , so the solution was to switch over to LEDs but not perfect
CDMA , you might consider the suggestion of resistor ( you'll have to experiment or know how to calculate to value ) outside the clock and climate control boxes
