Question Connector beside screen wash bottle?

Hi All,
I was looking into a fault with my screen wash bottle on the 94 sovereign and a large connector dropped from somewhere.
It is rather large and has two wires entering at the rear { yellow /red and black }.
At the other end are two brass circles that look like a sensor, I checked the 97 sport and it has the same thing.
Can anyone please let me know what they are? The cars do not have headlight wash.
Thank you in advance.
John

Thank you for your reply.
Yes the wire is heavy, not like speaker wire.
The fill in the blank is like the dodgy quiz shows we have on tv in the UK.
" For 100 points the wire goes..........................

On Canadian models there is a cold climate heater in the lower radiator hose

You can mail me that beer prize as long as it's not a Corona

I think if you have headlamp washers there is an extra pump in the washer reservoir just for the headlamps. This is the connector for that pump. See wiring diagram below.

Hi Brendan,
Thank you for that.
I know there is a spare relay on the right hand side of the engine bay, the cover has a white stripe, I will check the wire colour tomorrow.
I must admit surprise that both cars have the feature yet they do not have lamp wash, it must have been cheaper to just build them into the loom.
I have just looked at a price list from Sept 94 and heated power wash added another £380.00 to the price.
John.

It's quite common practice for wiring for additional options to be present in all cars of a particular model. The cost of a small amount of cable and a connector is pennies compared to the cost of design/build/test of 2 or more slightly different looms, plus managing stock of multiple items in initial manufacture and spares dept, plus extra effort to choose the right one at assembly etc, etc.

I just added some puddle lamps to my Volvo. The hole in the door panel was there, the wiring was there and active. Only thing missing was the the actual lights. £12 from ebay and I have an upgrade .
