Deer Meat

A few years ago I hit a mule deer fawn which is about the size of a yearling white tail like we have in Texas where I live now. I had been warned about this happening but had forgotten about it. This problem is mostly in the spring. If you see a doe cross the road some distance in front of you SLOW DOWN. There is most likely a fawn holding back due to fear of the road. Then just when you get to where the deer crossed the fawn gets really scared and runs to momma right in front of you. This is exactly what happened to me when I was on my motorcycle.
