hi all,
just a quick question, i have ordered a new upper tensioner for my x300 xj63.2 (1995)when i have looked at the old one in the car and it looks like i will have to remove the distributor to pull it outbut i dont know how to, has anyone removed one before? and ifanyone has replaced a upper tensioner as well and has any tips they would be a great help.
thank you.

You are correct. It's not a distributor, but a cam position sensor. You should be able to remove the cap behind it, slide the old tensioner out and slide the new one in.
