Does the front tube to the X300's air box hang down with an open end?

I just checked my air filter and don't want to get it wrong and find out I missed something.

If so - YES, it's an open end.

Yes it's supposed to hang down.
I've had some that funnel into the fender cut out and some that have a straighter bend that funnels behind the headlights..
