Default wrong part fitted XJR my 1999

hello all of you jaguar specialists
I finally finished my engine rebuild, taken 2 years all up.
Plugged in battery, put key in and then the codes started -
Engine - trans - suspension PLUS - wrong part fitted -
I haven't put the scanner on it yet, but I could not have even imagined a code telling you that you'd fitted a wrong part. I sort of imagine it is referring to the ECU It has been 2 years since the battery was hooked up, I'm thinking the little back up battery in the ECU is flat.
Has anyone seen this before or any good ideas - please would be a good word about now
Cheers DC

Thanks 99 next problem was broken wire in rotating switch on top of gear selector - threw the plug away, soldered the wires directly to the circuit board, then filled it up with epoxy
