fault code p1621 on jaguar x300 6 cylinder, means engine imobilization input circuit malfunction?

Not sure if it's the same on the 330

Car-Nut:
Since cars imported to ourr side of the pond do not have such a circuit, I have no specific experience. BUT my general advice would be to reset it and see if it comes back before I worried about it further. That is, of course if the car starts and runs fine, as I believe you implied.
BTW, none of my OBD code lists specific to the MY '97 X-300 show that code. (JTIS, Alldata) My general code description flist or Jaguars is exactly as Somprof said.

I agree just do a reset and see if the code goes away, however, if the check engine light is not on and the car starts and runs it may be a code that has not been cleared I know that sounds strange but on my 97 XJR I had two show up on the first scan I did when I bought the car one was an oxygen censor I forget the other, long story short I had NO check engine light and the oxygen censor was new so I know there was nothing wrong with it but they showed up on my OBD11 scan tool so I cleared them and that was all that was needed.. Without doing the scan I would never have known.. I'll make you a deal when I travel back home to Lancaster, Lancs next year I'll come and check it out for you. Mind I'll need the loan of the e-type... :icon_ razz:
