Default Exaust backfiring, car now going fast when pressing gas....

hey everyone, I am experiencing a major issue... When i press my gas all the way down the exhaust starts to pop, and the car wont go any faster than 30-40mph. But when I accelerate slow it will go faster. It is only happening when I press the gas all the way down. Also, on idle if I rev the engine to about 30rpms or higher the exhaust will begin to pop, alsmot sounds like something it blocking it. I have just had a new tps sensor installed, a new MAF, and had a fuel injection service done. Drove fine on the way home, then when I got home I cleaned under the hood, went to take it for a spin and it started to backfire. Please help, thanks.

What do you mean when you say you cleaned under the hood?

all I did was spray some engine degreaser and ran some water around the engine bay, I may have gotten some water in the alternator and air pump, but other than that, that was it.

I didnt mention, the other day my fuel rail housing broke, the part that holds the lines together. I crimped the line and had to replace the fuel rail and the pressure line. I also pulled all of the injectors and sprayed them with electronic cleaner. I then reinstalled everything. I also did the EGR Valve last week.

hey, dude. You have wet the spark coils. Take the cover off (the one with "JAGUAR" on it) and remove each coil over plug coil and dry with a towel.
Do not "fix" anything else until you have fixed the problem!

Default P1314 Code, what does it mean?

hi everyone, driving today, I had a misfire on cylinder 4, as well as a P1314 code. It says Misfire Rate Catalyst Damage Fault Bank 2. Does this mean my cat is damaged? I swapped out cylinder 4 with a used coil and cleaned the code, seems all ok for now..... Just wanna know about the other code please, thanks.

That code means that the engine is dumping so much raw gas that it will damage the catalyst if you keep driving it. It is indicative of a complete misfire. It is likely no damage was done if you drove for a short time.

Default Car shuts off in idle, hesitates on acceleration.... Please help :(

hi everyone for about the last month, I have had this problem urking my nerves. When I start the car, the idle acts kind of funny it stays around 10RPM but the engine makes a funny noise, like it wants to loose power. So when I go udner the hood and mess with the throttle, it feels like theres a slight delay after the throttle is pressed, not sure if thats normal? But anywho, if I keep pressing the throttle with my hand eventually the engine will stall and shut off. That is what is happening on idle. Now when driving, if I am at a red light or stop sign, and I begin to accelerate, the cars check engine light will turn on for a quick second or 2, the car will jerk and hesitate, and keep driving like there is no problem. If it jerks BAD ENOUGH, a transmission light will come on. And when this light comes on, the car begins to surge, like letting my foot go off the gas the car wont decelerate for a good 4-5 seconds, and when coming to a stop the RPMS take a few seconds to reach back down to 10.
I have went to a local shop that works on Jaguars and has the Jaguar software, and the gentleman pulled a tps code and a maf code. I replaced both, and the problem still exists. I have also changed the EGR Valve, fuel regulator, and fuel pump, no luck there. I have did a oil change, spark plus, 6 new coils, new valve cover and valve cover gasket set and a fuel filter and still seems like nothing is helping me. Has anyone experienced anything like this?? I was thinking the CAT Converter, but took it to a local muffler shop and they said the CAT Being so small, that it wouldn't cause problems like this. If anyone can help me out I would appriciate it, or send me in the right direction. Thank You, God bless
