The forum just saved me a bundle of cash - thanks!
My heater died last week, and since my aircon was low on gas too I decided to take it in to my local aircon specialist. He rang me to say the heater pump had failed, and it was going to be $800 plus labour. I replied "can you please just replace the brushes? Pull the pump and check it and I bet the brushes are gone" which was greeted by a stunned silence. A couple of hours later he rang back and told me the brushes were indeed worn out and he was going to replace them. $20 of brushes plus a bit of labour and some refrigerant to top it up, and it was all thanks to the information I read in this forum. I think he thought he had an easy mark when I rolled in, shows how a little knowledge goes a long way.
Thanks to the forum I just saved $800, awesome one people!

But seriously, who'd you got o in Hamilton?
I took both my cars one hot January (2008) to a guy up on the left on Te Rapa straight, and he was good. I knew he knew his stuff when I saw the series I E-type in there having a custom AC installation made.( I've forgotten the company's name now)
