Default Front brake hose fitment

Hi ,

Im rebuilding my X300 front subframe , I have re-furbed callipers and new original hoses. When i screw the hose into the calliper it bottoms out, is it meant to seal inside or
should it have a copper washer like the rear , if so it will need shortening.

Thanks for any advice,

Rich

May need the file off the end of the caliper fitting so the hose fitting snuggles down ( no loose filings to cut caliper piston O - rings )

I had a car once that the O - rings were cut by chrome flaking off a " remanufactured " wheel cylinder and the shuttle valve didn't come over , what a ride down a long city traffic hill but made it

Researching ( albeit on paper )

Thanks for the advice , I think the after market parts aren't always correct.

If it is a AN fitting , the bevel in the pic is what seals , so you can't remove the bevel

Do you have a pic of your situation ?

I do recall seeing O - rings on the bevel in situations but can't say for this as I have not removed mine

It doesn't have a bevel just a plane diameter I believe now to assist thread engagement, I have found some copper washers however in amongst some spares. Im confident shortening the fitting will work with a copper washer as the mating faces are very well machined plus a little hydraulic sealant will help.

Thanks for your help
