Default front brakes rotor and pads replacement??

the front brake rotors on my 95 xjr are warped. i am going to replace them this weekend if i find time as they are annoying making the car shudder and make a noise when im stopping. im looking for some suggestions on brands of rotors and pads to look for. i can get some at the local parts store but the ones they have are bosh quiet cast 3 rotors for 72.00$ a piece and im not sure how good they are. any suggestions and opinions are welcome. thanks.
Dayn.

On my three Jags and others I've repaired I've used rotors branded Lockheed, Raybestos, Brembo, Lucas, Wagner, Bendix, NAPA....never had a problem with any of them. I suspect the Bosch type you mentioned will work perfectly well.

Akebono, among others, are popular brake pads for Jags. I have 'em and think they're great.
No dust, will stop on a dime and give two cents change.

Cheers
DD

Thanks for the advice Doug. I will prob go with those rotors that I mentioned. I noticed today that the noise from the brakes is actually coming from the back brakes.. I'm not sure if these are the ones that are warped tho. And I would rather not have to replace all four rotors and pads at this time. Is there any tricks to telling if it's the front or back that are warped? Thanks.

Normally if you feel it through the steering wheel its front end if you feel it more through your behind its from the rear....pardon the pun

That makes sense I will take it for a cruise and see what it feels like. I checked all four corners and all the pads have plenty left on them. The rears are the ones that are making the noise. What causes them to make noise rotors glazed over?

My previous Deville used to warp rotors in 6-8 months - new calipers solved it.

Just something to consider. I've seen people replace rotors annually because they become warped. It's great that they replaced them, but why are they warping? Hanging caliper or a collapsed flex line to the caliper are common culprits.

After driving it around I am thinking it is the front end that is warped. The noise is however coming from the rear end brakes. Does that mean that the rears need to be replaced too?

Probably but you may have something as simple as a piece of gravel stuck in the caliper, check for a loose caliper as well.........

im in the middle of doing the rear brakes on the xjr right now and am having an issue. how do you get the rear rotors off the car. i have the calipers removed and there mount removed and its not coming off.. is there a drum brake for the parking brake behind it thats holding it on? thanks.

EDIT: figured it out and had to replace calipers due to damage while getting them off, they were really brittle anyway. the previous owners mechanic changed the brakes and rotors and didnt pay any attention to the access hole for the adjuster on the parking brake. i made sure it was lined up when i reinstalled. but what a pain in the ***. i can tell everything on this car that that mechanic touched and none of it is good, missing plastic caps on the caliper slides, bolt heads damaged from not using the corect size..ect. thankfully he didnt do much more than the brakes and a few small things.
