Yup, but since this knowledge is so few, most everyone still says X300 LWB. Of course, those with the X305 (Xj12), and X306 (Xj6R) can still use the X notation.

I seem to remember the X305 and X306, too; but I'm having a devil of a time substantiating them.

There are several designations that are seldom referred to. They just get lumped in with the original model.

Edit: Kudos to TopHatChef, he caught me overlooking a type-o. I found it where it is correct for the X300. The image is fixed.

Cheers,

That is a very interesting and wrong photo attached. Where it first mentions the 1995-1997 cars, it says the Xj8-XjR as X300 (should be Xj6), and later 1998-2003 Xj8-XjR as X308. I'm curious to know if its wrong anywhere else, or if it's just the one type-o. They also seem to have forgotten the X305 and 306. I was really hoping that when I saw that photo it would be the definitive answer to knowing the special model numbers.

Thanks for catchin' me nappin'!! I have fixed the image in post #6. I'm still looking for something to substantiate the X305 and X306 in print. Nuttin' yet.

Cheers,

97 XJ6L/X300/Sovereign 406
Hi.

I just want to make sure I am calling my model the correct thing. When I bought it the previous owner said 97 XJ6L. Here I was told X300 and at the Jag dealership my work order states Sovereign 406? Are all of these correct?
