Default General Things

Looking to do a few things this weekend, and was wondering if they were straight forward. I have to pick up the Haynes Manual, but just need to see if I should get prepared.

Looking to change spark plugs, oil change, fuel filter, brake fluid, transmission fluid. Pretty easy tasks? I have never done them on a Jag before..

If you've done those jobs on any other car you can do 'em on your '97 X300. Nothing unique required by way of tools or knowledge. All routine.

Cheers

I hate getting into a job, and then realizing it's a mission..

All that lot are reasonably straighforward, but try to get friend/wife to assist with brake fluid change. I have found it best to get friend in driver seat to pump the pedal whilst you do the necessary at each caliper; unless you have a pressure bleeding kit, of course.

For transmission fluid you have to get under the car - not a thing for cold weather !!

Everything sounds easy enough, but purchasing the Haynes manual seeing as they don't make one for the x300. The Xj40 is similar, and Haynes does make a manual for that, but not one for the X300.

When changing plugs make sure you use some anti siezeing compound on the threads (aluminum heads and steel plugs dont mix) also dont over tighten the plugs
